The Biomorphic Series originated from my preoccupation with form-making inspired by nature—especially architecture embodying characteristics of living organisms. However, instead of architecture emulating nature, the human body becomes an object of design “disembodied” from all context.
The result is a series of polarizing images that evoke a powerful visceral and emotional reaction. The images are strange yet familiar, repulsive and attractive, grotesque but beautiful. It is the tension of these polarities that compels me to keep experimenting.
